Renee Blanchet is a 1988 graduate of Mt. Blue High School who, after completing high school went on to vocational school and eventually owned her own business for 8 years. In 1994, Renee became a mother, for 2 years she juggled motherhood and a successful business but soon learned she wanted to be a hands on parent. In 1996 Renee closed her business and did just that. When her oldest child was 2, Renee became involved with the parent co-operative playgroup at UMF. Renee enjoyed her time with children and continued to be active in the playgroup until both children entered kindergarten.

At that time she went to work for SAD #9 at the Mallett School as an Education Technician working with children on the playground and classroom, and helping to implement the Bullying and Teasing Prevention program that was being introduced district wide, and that was initiated by the Children's Task Force. In March of 2003, Renee came to work for the Children's Task Force as a Family Support Worker and continues to support families in Franklin County today.

When not working, Renee enjoys spending time with her family, husband Michael and children Rileigh and Drew, working with her horses Queen and Thunder. She also takes pride in her work with abused animals, including her horse Lady.
