2007 - 24th Annual Children's Festival

FSB
Smiles could be found everywhere on Saturday, February 17th as the Franklin County Children’s Task Force (FCCTF) celebrated the 24th annual Children’s Festival.

The Children’s Festival is an annual event that is funded through donations from local businesses and individuals.  The University of Maine of Farmington has generously donated the Olsen Student Center through the years, along with an energetic custodial staff who set up for the event and cleaned the mess after everyone left.
The South Dining Hall was alive with performances throughout the day.

The Gross Motor Room was a popular area with children seeing how high they could jump, tumbling, dancing and exploring musical instruments and discovery toys.
In the Food Court volunteers were busy handing out popcorn, water and juice, pizza, ice cream and lemonade.  Children were fingerprinted and videotaped for their parents to keep on record compliments of C.H.I.P.S. volunteers.
FCCTF staff member Deb McGrane was busy in the Hands-On room ensuring that everything ran smoothly.  Over 20 organizations were in attendance offering children a variety of activities to enjoy. Face painters could be found with brush in hand and smiles on their faces as they created artwork on the cheeks of little ones.

Many volunteers were needed to run the event, and thanks to a number of dedicated individuals this year’s festival ran smoothly.  A great time was had by many!
